Shinn at 3 p.m.: Lubbock no rowdier than most road games

NORMAN — Oklahoma hasn't won at Texas Tech since 2003. The Red Raiders' Jones AT&T Stadium was become a topic because of the three-game losing streak.

OU coach Bob Stoops said it's always loud when his team plays in Lubbock, but it always is for road games in general.

"Where do we go where it isn't rowdy?" he asked on Wednesday. "When we go to Kansas State, it isn't rowdy? When we go to Oklahoma State, it isn't rowdy?

"It's fairly common, especially when we show up," he said.

Stoops did remember being heckled by a fan on his first trip to Lubbock in 1999. He was walking around the field about two hours before the game and the fan was laying into him.

"He saw my visor and he kept calling me a (Steve) Spurrier wannabe," Stoops said. "I'm cracking up, thinking, 'This guy's the best.' You have to be entertained when they get off a good one."
