Shinn at 3 p.m.: Off weeks slowed growth

NORMAN — Oklahoma enters Texas week after its best performance of the season.

The Sooners dominated on both sides of the ball in Saturday's 41-20 victory over Texas Tech.

OU coach Bob Stoops said on Monday that his team did get in a better rhythm against the Red Raiders, but playing only three games in the first five weeks slowed the team's growth.

"What I keep telling everybody is we're a little behind in that was only our fourth game," Stoops said. "We had two off weeks in the first five weeks. We're still a work in progress."

The 13th-ranked Sooners (3-1, 1-1 Big 12) are one of three Big 12 teams that haven't played five games. Oklahoma State and Baylor have both played four as well.
