Hearing resumes for wife of slain fire chief

EL RENO (AP) — A preliminary hearing has resumed for a Mustang woman charged in the shooting death of her husband, who was the fire chief of Nichols Hills.

The Canadian County District Court clerk's office says the hearing for Rebecca Bryan resumed Wednesday in the court in El Reno. Bryan has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the September shooting death of Keith Nichols. She told police an intruder shot her husband.

Prosecutors say the handgun used to kill Keith Nichols was found in a clothes dryer that was not in the area where Rebecca Bryan indicated the intruder had been.

The hearing was continued after a day of testimony on March 14.
