Wilson’s double-double leads Ladycats to win

CHOUTEAU —

CHOUTEAU – Chouteau Ladycat senior Carra Wilson had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman Dayla Vance added another 12 points and seven boards, as the Ladycats cruised to a 48-35 win Friday night.

It was Chouteau’s second win of the season.

“That’s the team I’ve been telling them that they are all year long,” said head coach Denisha Posey.  “Carra Wilson took over as a leader for her team.  They all knew they could do it and they made it happen.”

The Ladycats led by as many as nine in the first quarter, when junior Rachel Weathermen drained a trey at the buzzer, putting Chouteau up 15-6.  Vance would also drain a three just seconds before the end of the first half, increasing the lead to 11 at the half, 22-11.

Nowata head coach Glenn Hass was ejected with 7:46 to go in the game, when he received a double technical foul.  Karlee Alberty nailed both her technical free throws, while Weathermen made 1-of-2.

Chouteau will take on county rival Adair next Tuesday in Adair.
