PRYOR —
PRYOR - It just took one inning to decide Salina’s fate Tuesday night at the Oklahoma American Legion 3A State Tournament.
After scoring five runs in the bottom of the fourth, Claremore responded with six runs in the top of the fifth to capture a 6-5 win.
The loss ended Salina’s summer season.
In the bottom of the fourth, Clayton Eubanks started things with a RBI single, then Weston Williamson walked.
An error on a sacrifice bunt scored a run and put runners at second and third.
Lucien Littledave responded with a RBI double and Jake Johnson hit a RBI sacrifice fly.
Dalton Daniels followed with a RBI double and another runner ended up scoring on an error.
But Claremore had the answer, scoring six runs on five hits, including a 3-run home run, and an error to take the lead.
Claremore had gone hitless the first four innings.
Neither team could manage a run in the final innings and Claremore advanced to the next round.
Pryor played Claremore-Sequoyah Wednesday afternoon.
Look for those results in Friday’s edition.
