3A Tigers bounce back against Bartlesville

PRYOR - Pryor bounced back Saturday after a disappointing pool play round and came up with a 6-2 win over Bartlesville in the fifth place game of the Pryor Tigers’ Summer Classic.

The Tigers struck first as Blake Heston scored on an error.

He started the Tigers off with double.

In the second inning, Pryor tacked on two more.

With runners on first and third, Chris Ashley grounded out to third, but it was good enough to score the lead runner.

Rhett Eichelberger scored another run with a RBI double.

At the end of two innings, Pryor led 3-0.

Bartlesville cut the lead in the top of the third, getting back-to-back RBI hits and making it a 3-2 game.

Pryor didn’t waste any time, getting two more in the bottom of the third.

Zekke Stump scored on an error, and Eichelberger got his second RBI hit of the game, scoring courtesy runner Daulton Rosebrough.

The score held at 5-2 until the bottom of the sixth.

Dalton Murphy led off the inning with a home run over left field.

Holloway pitched the complete game giving the Tigers’ other pitchers a much needed day of rest.

Holloway only gave up five hits and struck out two.

The 3A Tigers get back to work Tuesday as they travel to Vinita. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
