RSU women eliminated in quarterfinals

The most successful run in program history came to an end Saturday as the Rogers State women fell, 70-63, to Georgetown College (Ky.), 70-63, in Frankfort, Ky.

The Hillcats lost out in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship, finishing at 22-12. It was their first-ever appearance in the tournament.

Logan Froese, the 6-1 junior from Claremore, led RSU with 21 points.

RSU led, 35-32, at halftime and by six in the first two minutes of the second half. After Georgetown rallied to regain the lead, the Hillcats could not catch up. Georgetown outscored RSU, 12-6, down the stretch.
