LOCUST GROVE —
The undefeated Adair Lady Warriors were crowned champions of the Bank of
Locust Grove Invitational Tournament Friday night after beating Ketchum 49-43 in a close finals matchup.
The Lady Warriors led by two at the half and never trailed by more than two points in the game.
Senior guard Raven Campos led Adair in scoring with 23 points.
Adair Head Coach Scott Winfield said he is thankful for the win, considering his team shot 27 percent from the field.
“I look back and I’m really glad we won the tournament shooting so poorly,” Winfield said. “I thought they handled being down to an opponent really well too. It is sort of unchartered territory this season.
Molly Kerr had 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Kerr was named to the All-Tournament team after the game.
Teammate Kylie Looney earned the girl’s tournament MVP award.
Looney played solid throughout the tournament, but only scored four points in the finals.
The Lady Warriors resume play at home Tuesday against Kansas.
