If playing four games in two days in McAlester were not enough, Pryor’s baseball Tigers will return on Tuesday for one more go-round.
After taking part in the McAlester 5A Shootout on Thursday and Friday, the eighth-ranked Tigers came home with a 2-2 record.
On Tuesday, they will go back to McAlester for a 5:30 p.m. district game against the fifth-ranked Buffaloes.
The two teams did not face each other in the elite tournament that attracted six of the top nine teams in the OkRankings.com poll of coaches.
However, Pryor and McAlester did pair up with common opponents.
Pryor defeated No. 13 Duncan, 13-4, and No. 17 Ardmore, 6-5, but lost to No. 16 Lawton MacArthur, 7-1, and No. 1 Midwest City Albert, 12-0.
McAlester defeated MacArthur, 15-1, and Ardmore, 12-0, but lost to Duncan, 7-3, and No. 9 Chickasha, 13-9.
MWC Albert won four games in the tournament, two by shutout.
Pryor will take a 19-10 record to McAlester while the Buffaloes stand 21-8.
They will play a rematch in Pryor at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Salina, ranked fifth in Class 3A, has one game remaining before the start of district play.
The Wildcats, who emerged from their tournament last week with a 3-1 record, travel to Vinita on Tuesday.
Salina, with a 7-2 victory over Vinita earlier, is 18-5 overall. Salina plays Keys in the district tournament later this week.
The Wildcats won two of their tournament games by shutout and their third game by a 3-2 count (over 5A Tulsa Hale).
They will play host to Keys on Thursday and Friday in the double-elimination district.
