PRYOR —
The undefeated Adair Lady Warriors defeated Vinita 51-33 to win the PIT, its third tournament championship of the season.
Adair dominated its two tournament previous games, the finals being no different.
Senior Raven Campos got off to a hot start, draining two 3-pointers in the opening period.
Campos led all scorers with 16
Junior Bailey Stephens, a sophomore who could make a living as a pickpocket thus far in the season, had two-of-four steals in the first quarter.
The crowd erupted in the second period when Lady Warriors’ guard Rendi Rogers sacrificed her body, stepping in to take a charge.
Adair led 27-12 at the half.
Crowd jubilation hit its high-point in the third, when senior post Anna Crawford blocked a Vinita player’s shot three consecutive times.
Looney got in on the action on the Hornet’s next possession with a block of her own.
Adair allowed only eight points from Vinita in the fourth.
After the game, Looney was named tournament MVP.
