Hulbert ladies ride away with victory

LOCUST GROVE — The Chouteau Ladycats shot only 29 percent from the field, as they fell to Hulbert 49-24 Tuesday at home.

Hulbert’s Tiffany Thompson scored 19 points for the Lady Riders, including 50percent (4-of-8) from beyond 3-point range.

Karlee Alberty paved the way for the Ladycats, pouring in seven points.

Chouteau couldn’t get anything going in the game, and found itself trailing Hulbert by six after the first quarter, 14-8.

The deficit increased by halftime, as Chouteau went ice-cold in the second quarter, scoring only 4 points on 2-for-8 shooting from the field.

The third quarter wasn’t any better for Chouteau, as they went 2-for-10 from the field, and were outscored 17-4.

There were a couple of bright spots for the Ladycats in the second half, as Janae Cantu had 5 points off the bench, while a couple of freshmen saw some playing time. Dayla Vance and Allison Grossman were both 1-of-2 from the field, each finishing with 2 points.
