Oklahoma running back Damien Williams ripped off 156 yards on just 10 carries Saturday night.
He became the first Sooner running back to rush for at least 100 yards in back-to-back games since Demarco Murray rushed for 115 yards against Texas and followed it up for 112 yards against Iowa State the following week in 2010.
Williams, a junior college transfer, joined a very rare group with his performance in the last two games. The last Sooner to eclipse the 100-yard mark in his first two games at OU was Adrian Peterson.
Peterson, the former OU All-American, ran for 100 yards against Bowling Green and 117 against Houston in 2004. Williams, who rushed for 103 yards on 10 carries in the season opener at UTEP, has also scored five touchdowns.
Much like Peterson, Williams hasn't cracked the starting lineup in his first two games. Peterson had to wait until the fourth game of his Sooner career to break into the starting lineup.
