Guillen returns to bench

Ozzie Guillen will be back in charge of the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.

The manager had been suspended by the club for five games for comments he made in which he expressed admiration for Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

Last week, the Marlins said in a prepared statement: "The pain and suffering caused by Fidel Castro cannot be minimized especially in a community filled with victims of the dictatorship."

Guillen, a Venezuela native who became a United States citizen in 2006, said in an interview with Time magazine’s website that he “loved” Castro.

"I respect Fidel Castro. You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill Fidel Castro for the last 60 years, but that [expletive] is still here."

Guillen has apologized. Speaking first in Spanish, he apologized to the city, its Cuban-American community and all Latin Americans for the comments.   "I feel like I betrayed my Latin community," he said.  "I am here to say I am sorry with my heart in my hands and I want to say I'm sorry to all those people who are hurt indirectly or directly."
