NORMAN —
Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard knows the frustration fans felt after the 24-7 victory over UTEP.
Most were expecting a better performance in the season opener. The expectations from OU fans are always high. It wasn't that long ago that Ikard, an Oklahoma City native, was a kid expecting perfection from his favorite team.
"I know I did when I was an OU fan," Ikard said. "You know the guy who's always yelling at the quarterback that he could have made that throw? That was me."
After quarterback Landry Jones was sacked three times against UTEP, Ikard admitted if he would have been in the stands or watching the game on TV he would have been yelling at the offensive line.
"It's how we all act and it's how OU fans are," he said. "It's how I was and how I still am."
