Lorene Willman

Lorene Willman, 71, Salina, died Saturday, Oct. 13, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1936 in Kenwood, the daughter of William Cochran and Nellie (King) Cochran.

She married John Willman on June 21, 1962, in Pryor. She worked as a nurses aide and was a lifetime resident of Mayes County. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed quilting and reading. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a lovely lady who touched many lives and will be very missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2 p.m., in the Shipman’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Duke Pickup officiating. A wake service is Tuesday in the Old Salina gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m. with Bridge Chuckluck officiating. Casketbearers are Patrick Hendrick, Keith Hendrick, Wesley Arneecher, John Arneecher, Brett Shamblin and Devin Cullen. Honorary casketbearer is Aaron Hendrick. She is survived by her sons, David and wife, Arlene Willman, Salina, Jerry Wayne Willman, Salina; step-son, John Lee Willman, Junction City, Kan.; daughters, Sandra and husband, Donald Hendrick, Rio Rancho, N.M., Elizabeth and husband, D.W. Patton, Longview, Texas and Johnna “Pooh” Willman, Salina; brothers, Billy Cochran, Chouteau, and Robert Cochran, Chouteau; sisters, Mariam Smith, Eunice Backward, Betty Arthurs, all of Salina and Leeann Davis, Kenwood; nine grandchildren, Amy and Kate Patton, Patrick, Keith and Aaron Hendrick, Wesley, John and Lorene Arneecher and Brett Shamblin; one great-grandchild, Siobhan Hendrick; dog, Danny; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in April 2005; brother, Wesley Cochran; son, Edward John Willman and nephew, Jerry.
