Sara Sydnor Dickson

PRYOR — Sara Sydnor Dickson was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Mayfield, Ky., to Elliott Philip and Ophelia Sydnor. She died Jan. 5, in Sherman, Texas. Dickson graduated from high school in Auburn, Ky., and attended a business school following high school. While working at Fort Campbell, Ky., she met Charles Dickson. They married in October 1956, and then moved to Pryor, in 1957 to open a dental practice.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nanciann and Keith Syler, of Sherman, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Syd and Karl Smith, of Enid; granddaughters Lauren Smith and Allie Syler; brother Elliott Philip Sydnor, Jr., of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and sister Ann Lockhart, of Russellville, Ky. She was preceded in death by husband Charles, her parents, and a sister Nancy Rowland.

At her request no formal service will be held. A family visitation will be Jan. 19, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.  at Key Funeral Home in Pryor. (www.keyfuneralhome.com) Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or to the First Baptist Church in Pryor. Arrangements are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor.
