Graveside services for Alfred Thomas Pollard, 84, Pryor, are Friday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m., at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson. James Rice will officiate with services entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.
Pollard was born June 20, 1928, in Peggs to Hugh and Maudie (Littlefield) Pollard. He died Jan. 22 n Muskogee at the age of 84 years.
Pollard lived most of his life in Pryor. He was married to Doris Helen Ward on Feb. 24, 1951 in Van Buren, Ark. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He worked at Pryor Public Schools in the maintenance department. He had served as a volunteer on the Pryor Fire Department for 18 years and two years for the Adair Fire Department. He retired after 20 years of volunteer service. Pollard enjoyed fishing and was active in the CB Radio Club. Family was always very important to him and he spent as much time with them as possible.
Pollard is survived by wife Doris of the home; three grandchildren, Bobbie Kennedy and husband Josh of Owasso, Kellie Stuckey and husband Dennis of Beggs, Raylene Rogers and husband Jimmy of Beggs; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; daughter Betty Parramore of Maud; aunt Wilma Cole of Chouteau; sisters-in-law Barbara Pollard of Pryor, Ora Lee Pollard of Tulsa; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Helen Poole and Tara Gibbs and brothers Carl and Cecil.
In lieu of other remembrances donations can be made to the Pryor Fire Department.
