Joan Burke Mckean, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Tulsa, due to complications of pneumonia. She was born in 1930 to ML and Corinne Burke in Plymouth, Ind., and married C.R. (Mac) McKean in 1950.
She is survived by sister Shirley Nelson of Indianapolis, Ind.; son Kevin McKean and wife Angela, Broken Arrow; daughters Kathy McKean, Stillwater, Julie Brockmeier and husband Roy, Broken Arrow, Nancy Riggs and husband Keith Jenks; grandchildren Remi McKean, Kelsey and Alex Riggs, Nathan Barnett, Joseph and Nicole McKean and Alexis Cauley; great-grandson Dustin Cauley. She was preceded in death by her husband and children Gregory and Susan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to her favorite charity, the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Gala at www.alz.org/alzokar.
Visitation is Feb. 22 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and a rosary service is at 7 p.m. and will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A funeral mass will be said on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Tulsa.
