The annual Student Art Exhibition at Rogers State University will hold an artists’ opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday at the Baird Hall art gallery. Announcements of winning works will be made at approximately 5:45 p.m.
The exhibition features the best art by RSU students during the past academic year.
Diversity remains a constant for the student art show, and this year’s exhibition is no exception. Traditional media such as drawings, paintings, ceramics, printmaking and photographs will be part of the show, as well as light sculptures, wall hangings and experimental mixed-media works.
Eleanor Carmack of Tulsa, a celebrated painter, educator and certified art appraiser, will serve as this year’s juror for the exhibition, which is free and open to the public.
The student works will be on display through April 13 in the Foundations Gallery in Baird Hall on the RSU campus in Claremore. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
