Cheryl Beasley is a fourth- and fifth-grade reading teacher at Locus Grove Upper Elementary School.
She said her favorite thing about being a reading teacher is encouraging students to dig deeper into a subject or story.
“I enjoy helping children become successful learners,” Beasley said.
Beasley has been a part of the school system for six years. She spent three years as a high school algebra and geometry teacher, two years in special education and one year in reading.
“My experience with multiple grade levels gives a unique perspective that I can pass on to my students so they will be better prepared for future grades,” Beasley said.
Beasley was born in Tulsa and is married to Chris Beasley. They have been married for 15 years have have three children, Chris Shaw, Connor and Shannon Beasley.
She graduated from Pryor High School and has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State University.
“Students of today face more challenges than most adults can imagine. It takes determination and dedication for teachers to meet each student’s needs and give them the tools to be successful,” Beasley said.
