The South Elliott Street project has a new engineer.
Mayes County Commissioners approved Kellogg Engineering of Talala as engineer for three projects in District 2.
District 2 Commissioner Darrell Yoder said he is excited to get rolling on the South Elliott project. Yoder said the project is behind five months because of the holdups with the previous engineer. He said construction on the road is still on course for 2011.
Besides South Elliott Street, Kellogg Engineering will take over the engineering for the Pryor Creek bridge on Ninth Street and a Brushy Creek bridge on Road 429 south of old Highway 33.
Bridge inspections in Mayes County are nearly complete, according to Julie Guy of Guy Engineering. Data input is in process, and
the information will be
transferred to Okla-
homa Department of Transportation.
Commissioners opened bids Monday morning on road oil, asphalt, rock and other materials. They tabled them for review and will award bids next week
The commissioners approved a lease purchase agreement on a new fire truck for Osage-Pleasant View Fire Department. The 1997 tanker, which was approved last week for purchase from Emergency Vehicle Services, cost $84,000. Welch State Bank is carrying the loan for the tanker at an interest rate of less than 4 percent.
District 2 is buying a one-half acre right-of-way from the Kendricks for $12,000.
Mayes County District 3 is transferring an equipment trailer to District 1.
“We’ll put that thing to good use,” said Alva Martin, commissioner for District 1.
