Candidates file for school board elections
Candidates around the county filed last week for school board
positions.
In the Adair School District, incumbent Granville Martin filed for re-election. Challenging Martin are Tobie Cooper and John L. Brachtenbach, Jr.
Larry Stamper and Cliff Orcutt threw their hats in for the seat on the Chouteau-Mazie School District board. The seat is currently held by Wayne Markiewicz.
In Locust Grove, candidates Joe Neel and Mike D. Stone filed for the seat currently filled by Edgar Morrison.
Salina incumbent Carey Backward will face opponents Tracy Burns-Stuart and Sofia Carnes for the Salina School Board seat.
In the Pryor and Osage school districts, board members Fred Sordahl and Terry L. Cox filed with no challengers.
Filing for Zone 5 and Zone 3 on the Northeast Technology Center board of directors were incumbent Joe J. Hutchison and John M. Long.
