Mayes County Commissioners opened bids on a semi tractor for District 1 and two fire trucks for the Osage-Pleasant View Fire Department.
Commissioner Alva Martin said District 1 is replacing a 1983 International day cab semi they use to haul equipment.
Chairman Melvin Pritchett opened two bids for the truck. District 1 requested bids on a 2000 to 2001 model truck.
The first bid came from Tulsa Freightliner on a 2004 model for $28,000. The truck has 345,000 miles on it.
The second bid from D&D; Truck Sales is a 2001 model with 382,763 miles. D&D;’s bid is $20,900.
Martin said a new day cab semi would cost $75,000. The day cab also pulls the belly dump trailer the district uses to haul asphalt.
Osage-Pleasant View Fire Department is seeking a 1988 to 1992 pumper truck and a 1993 to 1999 tanker truck.
Emergency Vehicle Resources from Claremore bid $45,000 on a 1990 pumper with a trade-in. The company bid $84,000 on a 1997 tanker.
Adair Fire Department submitted a quote of $45,000 for a 1992 model pumper.
All bids were tabled for review.
Commissioners approved a title sheet for the new Snake Creek bridge on 447 Road near Rose. The bridge washed out last May in the flood. The new structure will be 152.5 feet long. Pritchett, commissioner for District 3, said the project includes raising the valley and lowering the hill to build a more level road. The project will be approximatly one-quarter mile long. Pritchett said the district may seek bids on the project in January.
Commissioners reset the date for a public hearing on the revised floodplain permit regulations. County Clerk Rita Littlefield said she did not get the notice for Dec. 21 published. The new date for the hearing is Jan. 11 in the commissioner meeting.
The commissioners approved seven floodplain permits for Grand River Dam Authority transmission lines. GRDA will be replacing some poles. The cost of the permits totals $1,050.
District 2 is paying Bob Strickland $1,900 for a right-of-way on South Elliott.
The commissioners set paid holidays for 2010. The courthouse will be closed the following days next year: Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day, Jan. 18 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Feb. 15 for President’s Day, April 2 for Good Friday, May 31 for Memorial Day, July 5 for Independence Day, Sept. 6 for Labor Day, Oct. 11 for Columbus Day, Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day, Nov. 25 and 26 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 23 and 24 for Christmas.
