Pryor Municipal Utility employees have been staying busy.
Gas crews are replacing a 2-inch gas line between North Vann and North Rowe from Northeast First to Northeast Fifth. Truck 3 is doing this project. As of Nov. 2, the crew was about two-thirds of the way through the 300 block.
The crew on Truck 12 made five new gas taps in the Summerfield Addition for Rausch-Coleman.
Gas crews also performed required odorant testing and patrolled all highway and railroad crossings. During wet weather, the workers took some sample cathodic readings throughout the system.
“Everything is in real good shape,” said Gas Foreman Scott Rice.
The contractor at Roosevelt Elementary has laid a new 8-inch PVC line from Northeast Fifth south to Northeast Fourth. The line has been capped. MUB is waiting for the line to be pressured and water samples taken.
Water crews continue working to replace a
4-inch cast iron water line with 6-inch PVC. The replacement is on North Coo-Y-Yah from Graham Avenue to Northeast Fourth. The crews are adding fire plugs.
Employees have been working on the south part of the project. They have been jackhammering the street to make the tie-in at the 4-inch valve
connection.
The replacement of a 2-inch steel water line with 8-inch PVC is in progress on South Veyda, along with replacing fire plugs. Crews have been busy working on other jobs and were back on the project this week. They lacked five tie-ins and approximately seven water taps.
Crews made a new water tap and a new sewer tap at 1991 Graham Place.
Kenny Smith, water and sewer foreman, said the jackhammer attachment has been taken to White Star Machinery in Tulsa for repairs. The piston is broken and parts must be ordered.
The electric crew replaced the underground primary at the Helton Addition. The old primary had been in use since 1968 and was having a number of outages.
Electric Foreman Steve Graves said the replacement should take care of outages from primary faults for a lot of years.
The electric crew pulled poles at 1410 NE First and 108 S. Taylor. The workers replaced the bad poles a few weeks ago.
The crew worked on equipment trailers to repair all the lights and insure the trucks were all wired.
