Tip helps find robbery suspect

A concerned neighbor helped to foil a possible armed robbery Wednesday evening and the man captured is suspected of carrying out a similar robbery Monday night.

Jordan Branch, 20, who moved to Pryor from Texas a few weeks ago, was arrested after Pryor Police located the vehicle used in the robberies.

“A fast-food delivery service tried to deliver food on Monday night,” Investigator Corporal James Willyard said. “When the driver arrived at the address, there was no answer.”

As the driver prepared to leave, a male subject in a red bandana approached with a gun drawn and demanded the money. The driver complied. An undetermined amount of money was stolen.

The police were contacted and a description of the man was given.

Wednesday night, a concerned neighbor saw a truck parked near a house. A man wearing a red bandana was running to some bushes. The neighbor called out to the stranger and notified him that the police were being called.

The man fled the scene. Soon after the arrival of the officers, a fast-food delivery vehicle arrived on the scene.

Corporal Justin Couch and Sergeant James Blower recognized the robbery attempt as being similar to the one on Monday.

Couch made contact with the delivery driver. There were people living in the house, but they did not place an order.

A vehicle description of a Ford dually was obtained and the search was on.

Willyard located the vehicle at a residence in Green Country Mobile Home Park.

“I made contact with Branch and another female subject,” Willyard said. Additional investigation yielded the red bandana and the firearm.

“After further questioning of both subjects, he was arrested,” Willyard said. The woman was not taken into custody.

Branch was arrested on one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted robbery. Branch remains in jail on a $75,000 bond.
