Students studying emergency medical services at Rogers State University are trying to save as many lives as possible by providing free adult CPR training at “Save-A-Life Saturday” on Oct. 31.
Free CPR training will be provided to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centennial Center on the RSU campus in Claremore.
Area health care professionals will serve as instructors. In addition, many EMS students have completed training to become basic life support instructors to help teach at the event, said Larry Brewer, RSU EMS instructor. Free training in automated external defibrillation and pediatric CPR also will be provided at the event.
Several area health care agencies will be present at the event to display their equipment and explain their services to the public, including area fire departments, EMS agencies and the Rogers County Health Department. A Tulsa Life Flight helicopter also will be present at the event.
Subway sandwiches will be served free of charge while they last and children will be provided with bags of Halloween candy. Information, call (918) 343-7643.
