Five people were arrested following an anonymous call made to the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office regarding a possible methamphetamine lab operation in rural Adair.
Jessica Simons, also known as Jessica Whiteis, 24, Tulsa, Sean Simons, 38, Tulsa (and reportedly the husband of Jessica), Sean’s brother Quinn Simons, 32, Adair, Carol Jean Lacy, also known as Carol Calloway, 28, Tulsa, and Kris Hilton (male), 54, Tulsa, were taken into custody.
MCSO Sergeant Albert McKee said the caller informed him that there were people cooking meth at a residence about four or five miles northwest of Adair.
“They said that shortly before making the call, the residents were seen carrying glassware and Coleman fuel into the house,” McKee said, adding that the caller also believed guns were in the residence.
After checking the area, McKee contacted the sheriff’s office and Pryor Police Department for reinforcements to approach the residence.
While waiting for backup law enforcement to arrive at a predestined spot, officers observed a motorist making a u-turn in the roadway, seemingly unaware of their presence, according to McKee. A traffic stop was executed, and the driver was Sean Simons, who was staying at the residence officers were about to visit.
After directing Simons back to the residence, officers noticed a strong chemical smell in the air.
Quinn gave consent to search then joined his brother outside and the three additional occupants were removed from the home for their safety. An active meth lab was discovered.
“It was boiling while we were there,” McKee said. Firearms were also found.
All five were arrested and there may be one additional arrest in the future, according to McKee.
Bond was set during a hearing on Friday.
Jessica Simons, Quinn, Calloway (who has two previous felony convictions), and Hilton all had bonds set at $50,000. Sean Simons, who has six former felonies, had a bond set at $100,000. All five remained in the Mayes County Jail as of Friday night.
