A Chouteau man was arrested Monday after throwing a baseball at his wife, hitting her, then jumping in front of her car while she attempted to leave.
Jesse Allen Grant, 42, was charged with domestic assault and battery Tuesday.
The charges stem from an incident at the baseball fields on North McCracken Street in Chouteau.
During an interview with police, Grant said his 9-year-old son began to cry and he started cussing at him, which his wife, Sydna Rashell Grant, 28, didn’t like so she threatened to leave.
Jesse admitted he picked up a baseball and threw it at his wife, narrowly missing her head, then picked up another one and threw it, hitting her in the leg.
When Sydna got her son in the vehicle and tried to leave, Jesse admitted to Sgt. Rod Howell that he jumped in front of the vehicle and was hit. He rolled onto the hood and the windshield was smashed by his body.
Jesse was arrested for domestic assault and booked in the Mayes County Jail. He was released Wednesday on a $2,500 bond.
