The final inspection on the new Butcher Bridge was finished yesterday. Mayes County Commissioners Alva Martin, Melvin Pritchett and Darrell Yoder held a ribbon cutting for the official opening of the bridge. Construction on the District 3 bridge began last November to replace the old structure. The Butcher Bridge cost $1.09 million to build. The engineer for the
project was Guy Engineering of Tulsa. Paradigm Construction built the bridge. The new structure is two and a half miles west of Kenwood on South 447.7 Road.
