Chouteau buys new tanker
Chouteau trustees viewed the newest addition to the fire department’s fleet after the board meeting Monday.
Fire Chief Ted Key said the 2009 Pierce 3,000 gallon tanker truck was picked up Monday before the meeting.
The $219,000 truck will be paid for through county fire tax money since the department recently paid off their rescue truck, which was being financed with county fire tax money.
The town received a $25,000 Rural Economic Action Plan grant, which the fire department used as a down payment on the new tanker. The tanker will replace a 1972 model 1,200 gallon tanker.
