Pryor to seek bond bids
Pryor Schools will seek bids the second week of July on the first school bond project.
Pryor School Superintendent Don Raleigh said the school will go out for bids on the gym for Roosevelt Elementary. The bids will be open for three weeks.
Raleigh said the school will go out for bids on the Lincoln Elementary expansion later, around the end of August or first of September.
Raleigh said the architect advised spacing out the bids to get the best prices possible.
The junior high and high school projects will be bid on “ABC bids.” This means the available bids may offer separate price on the junior high project and the high school project or bid on both projects together.
The gym at Roosevelt will be constructed on the city park property beside Roosevelt school grounds.
The Lincoln building project includes an early childhood center on the east side of the elementary and expansion of the cafeteria. A gym and commons area for Lincoln Elementary will be incorporated into the early childhood center, with the stage between. The commons area will be large enough to hold all 600 students in the school.
Five classrooms will be added to Pryor Junior High, as well as a secured entrance to the building.
Improvements to Pryor High School include four “state-of-the-art science labs.” Three classrooms will be renovated into five new classrooms.
Other projects in the bond is funding are seven school buses and new roofs for the warehouse and high school
auditorium.
