Acting on information from an anonymous tip, investigators discovered a shake and bake meth lab in a local man’s vehicle Tuesday.
Randall Douglas Given, 37, Ketchum, was arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine. He’s being charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) after former conviction of a felony, possession of CDS and paraphernalia.
Given has been convicted in the past of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute in 2000 and possession of a controlled drug in 1998.
Investigator Albert McKee, Spavinaw Police Chief Butch McDonald and Langley Police Chief Gary Hitchcock located Given at the Sonic in Langley after not finding him at the address given with the anonymous tip.
When Given reached out to hand McKee his insurance information, he dropped a small amount of methamphetamine on the ground.
The female passenger in Given’s vehicle ran at that time, and McDonald and Hitchcock chased her.
Stephanie Drake aka Stephanie Post, 25, was apprehended for her failure to pay warrants on a previous
misdemeanor charge. Officers found marijuana and paraphernalia in her pocket.
Both Drake and Given were placed in separate patrol cars, and Drake ran again. Hitchcock was able to apprehend her approximately three blocks away.
While searching the vehicle, McKee said he found components for making methamphetamine. Given had one container set up for the shake and bake method.
Drake and Given were booked in the Mayes County Jail. Drake is charged with escape, possession of CDS and possession of paraphernalia. Drake’s bond is $7,500, while Given’s bond was set at $75,000.
