Mayes County Commissioners approved road maintenance agreements and a juvenile detention agreement and tabled bids on a new fire truck tank Monday.

Commissioners opened bids last week on a new 3,000 tank for the Disney Fire Department.

Bids came in from Safety Materials Installation For Law Enforcement Services and Deep South Fire Trucks, Inc. SMILES bid $48,647.80. Deep South bid $97,260 for a plastic tank and $82,780 for a mild steel tank. The bids were tabled for review by the fire department.

Commissioners tabled the bids a second time yesterday. Chairman Melvin Pritchett said the fire department requested another week to decide on a bid.

Commissioners approved road maintenance agreements on several towns and subdivisions. Pritchett said the towns or housing divisions furnish the materials and the districts maintain the roads.

Areas approved for maintenance agreements are Adair, Spavinaw, Gages, Maple Rest Two, Grand View and Hammons Heights.

County funds totaled $226,430.68. District 1 received $58,551.90 and District 3 received $58,551.89.

District 2 received $109,326.89. The funds included $5,775 from ACCO for a district cleanup. Cherokee Nation sent $45,000 in reimbursement funds for an easement on Cedar Crest.

Commissioners approved a juvenile detention agreement with Canadian County. Canadian County will charge Mayes County $19.31 per day for holding a juvenile offender.
