William Sweet, Adair, climbed out on his own after his company van rolled down an embankment on North 429 Road. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Colby Overstreet said Sweet was reaching down to grab an object when he ran off the right side of the road. Sweet, 41, was southbound, heading for Highway 28. The front right side of the van struck a bridge abutment and the vehicle went over, landing on its top in the creek below. Overstreet estimated the drop to be at least 15 feet. “He’s lucky to be alive,” said Overstreet. Diamond Head/Lone Chapel Fire Department responded to the scene. Mayes Emergency Services Trust Authority (MESTA) transported Sweet to Mayes County Medical Center, where he was treated and released
