Dogs die in kennel fire
A woman who’s been cited for dog nuisance and animal cruelty complaints in the last month lost several dogs when the kennel near her home caught fire Monday.
Disney Police Chief Larry Sanders said by the time fire-fighters arrived at Pat Locke’s home in Disney Monday, the kennel was fully engulfed. He estimates the firefighters were able to save 10 dogs, but the rest died in the fire.
Sanders said the fire is under investigation to determine the cause.
Locke was scheduled to attend court on the four nuisance citations for dog barking and one animal cruelty citation Thursday. She appeared with an attorney, who asked the court to pass the cases until the next docket. Locke is scheduled to appear for the citations in Disney court on
April 9.
