Chouteau Firefighters kept a pasture fire from getting too close to a couple of
trailer homes on South 427 Road after 2 p.m., Wednesday. Chouteau Fire Chief Ted Key could be heard on the scanner saying he was out at the same location an hour before and the fire was under control. But Key said a property owner “accelerated” the fire, which led to the fire spreading. Pryor and Osage Fire Department were called out to assist Chouteau.
