Mayes County Fair Board is
welcoming four new members to the board.
The fair board election was Saturday between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
In District 1, Kelly Brown took the seat on a vote of 21 to two, winning over his opponent Ronnie Motter.
District 2 candidate Jerry Zumstein, Jr., Pryor, won against Robert Dardenne, Mazie. The votes were 32 to 5.
District 3 residents turned out to a close race for Crystal Pritchett, Rose, and Allen Willis, Locust Grove. Pritchett beat Willis by nine votes. The tally came to 37 to 28 in Pritchett’s favor.
Fair Board member Curt Stutzman of District 1 submitted a letter of resignation to Mayes County Commissioners. Stutzman said he is resigning because he no longer has any children involved in the fair.
District 1 Commissioner Alva Martin recommended appointing Motter to Stutzman’s board seat.
Commissioners voted to accept Stutzman’s resignation and appoint Motter.
