PD goes on high speed chase

Sommer Woodward

Two men were arrested Sunday night for leading Chouteau officers on a high speed chase.

Robert Lee Fuller, 23, Pryor, was arrested for driving under the influence, attempting to elude and driving with a suspended license.

Dustin Bendabout, 21, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested on a Mayes County warrant for a previous misdemeanor eluding charge.

The chase began when Officer Brad Rowland saw Fuller driving north on Highway 69 with only one headlight. When he attempted to pull the vehicle over, the chase began.

Officer T.J. Cox joined the chase soon after it began.

Speeds reached in excess of 100 miles per hour, but the chase was short-lived when Fuller pulled into EZ-Mart in South Pryor.

Fuller and Bendabout were made to exit the vehicle and placed under arrest.

A police report states Fuller admitted to running because he had been

drinking and had a suspended license.
