Mayes County Assessor Sam White is retiring
Jan. 31.
White announced her
resignation Monday in the county commissioners’ meeting. She has been with the assessor’s office 30 years.
White has served as
county assessor since January 1990.
“It’s been a real privilege for me to work in the assessor’s office and serve as assessor,” said White. “I’ve worked with some really great people.”
Commissioners appointed First Deputy Lisa Melchior to fill the unexpired term of county assessor. Melchior will take office Feb. 1.
Commissioners approved two water line crossings. One is in District 2 on Cavalier Road, south of Hicks Feed. The second water line is on Estep Road in District 3.
“We had 115 in jail this morning,” said Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey.
