Man arrested on abuse, firearm charges
A 32-year-old Pryor man was arrested last week for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.
Michael Shawn Bell is charged with child sexual abuse and feloniously
pointing a firearm.
Allegations are that Bell sexually abused the girl over a two-year period.
He’s also accused of pointing a .9mm pistol at her head twice.
The allegations surfaced when the girl came into contact with Deputy Denise Henry. She was able to tell Henry about the ongoing abuse and the sheriff’s office began an investigation with the Department of Human Services.
Investigator Chuck Ward said when the girl was interviewed, she reported Bell had been sexually abusing her.
Bell was interviewed and denies the allegations of abuse, but admits to pointing the gun at her head twice.
Bell was booked in the Mayes County jail and has a $250,000 bond.
