Pryor resident Chuck Newcomb claimed Cherokee Casino’s biggest win ever.
Newcomb’s jackpot cashed out at $614,724.83 Monday morning.
“It beats their biggest win by $200,000,” said Newcomb.
Newcomb, 31, is a lifetime resident and an employee at Gatorade. He had taken a half day off from work and arrived at Tulsa’s Cherokee Casino at 4 a.m.
Newcomb played for a couple of hours and “was not doing well.”
He looked over and spied the penny Monopoly Super Money Grab progressive jackpot machine.
“It looked fun,” he said. “I played for over an hour and a half before hitting it.”
Newcomb won his prize by lining up five “2x Wild Uncle Moneybags” reels. He struck jackpot at 7:47 a.m. on a $2 bet. The penny machine rang until noon as it calculated his win.
Newcomb called his supervisor at Gatorade to say he would not make it to work for his next shift.
Newcomb plans to use his winnings to pay off a Harley-Davidson motorcyle he purchased two weeks ago. He wants to buy a house he rents from his sister and add on a garage.
“I’m pretty much set up,” Newcomb said. He plans to continue his employment at Gatorade.
