The city of Pryor’s Hotel/ Motel grant is available for applicants involved in a community event.
Certain guidelines must be met for individuals or groups to receive consideration for the grant.
Applicants must be conducting an event open to the general public. The project or event must further the success of scheduled community events and coordinate with community promotion.
Grants are based on individual consideration.
Mayor’s Secretary Sandi Wilson said organizations applying are usually tax-exempt. Wilson said events bringing people to town will give business to local hotels and motels. The city then receives taxes from the overnight stays.
Examples of events and groups receiving the grant in the past include baseball tournaments, bands and Pryor Chamber of Commerce.
All applications must be returned to the city clerk’s office by July 21.
