A new agent will begin operating Locust Grove Tag Agency across the street from the former office.
Loy Willis will open her office June 30 in the old Progressive Insurance building on Main Street. The location is next door to Elaine’s Beauty and Barber Shop.
Willis has lived in Locust Grove over 45 years and is the former owner of DJ’s Diner.
“It’s nice to be back on Main Street,” she said.
At the tag agency, customers will be able to purchase and renew tags for vehicles, boats and motors. Personalized plates are also offered. Driver’s licenses can be renewed or obtained with the proper paperwork.
In addition, the tag office will offer CheckFreePay Services. This system allows customers to pay utility payments, including American Electric Power and Oklahoma Natural Gas. The office will accept payment to specified clothing stores and other services such as Dish Network and T-Mobile.
Willis’ sister, Norma Pittman, will help run the office. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will be open Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. The office can be contacted at (918) 479-1800.
Willis is licensed with Oklahoma Tax Commission.
“Come in and see us,” she said. “If we don’t have the answer, Oklahoma Tax Commission does.”
