Chouteau man charged with felony assault
A 37-year-old rural Chouteau man was arrested June 12 for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend in the head with a pistol.
Geoffrey Brian Henning was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, a felony, and assault and
battery, a
misdemeanor.
Court records state Henning’s ex-girlfriend was tied up with red tape and beaten while at his residence Monday, June 9.
The victim reported Henning hit her left eye with a small pistol. She reported he continuously choked
and hit her for
an unknown amount of time.
Sometime after 10 p.m., Henning untied her and let her leave.
The Mayes County Sheriff’s Office investigated the
complaint and Henning was arrested.
His bond was set at $150,000 with the condition he not have any contact with the victim. He posted bond June 13. His next court date is the preliminary hearing sounding docket June 26, at 9:30 a.m.
