Former Delaware County sheriff charged again with drunken driving
JAY – The former Delaware County sheriff was charged Friday for the second time for drunken driving, a prosecutor said.
Lenden Woodruff, 52, of Colcord, was charged in Delaware County District Court in Jay with aggravated drunk driving, carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container and failure to wear a seatbelt, said Bryce Lair, assistant district attorney.
He was arrested Thursday night by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Woodruff is free on $5,331 bail and is schedule to return to court
July 2.
Sheriff from 2000 until early 2004, Woodruff resigned after pleading guilty to charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and transporting an open container of alcoholic beverage. He was assessed a one-year deferred sentence and was fined $1,350.
