Members of the Pryor Academic Excellence Foundation (PAEF) distributed $26,770.89 in grants to teachers at Jefferson, Roosevelt, Lincoln, Washington Elementary Schools, and the Pryor High School.
The teachers write grants twice a year in the spring and fall, for specific teaching aids. This years funds from the PAEF will purchased programs that create an environment where the students learn to read maps, understand directions and use latitude and longitude. Reading labs for the kindergartens teach letter and color
recognition as well as rhyming. Some of the students will learn from a program which teaches weights and measures, fractions, decimals and percentages.
Lincoln Elementary received $7,191.51, Roosevelt Elementary received $7,089.90, Washington Elementary received $7,218.88, and Jefferson Elementary received $1,028.35, the four elementary music teacher partnered together to share $318 for music supplies. The Pryor High School received $3,141.25 for supplemental teaching aids.
PAEF is currently selling tickets on a four-wheeler to raise funds for the fall grants.
