A warrant was issued Friday, Aug. 31, for the arrest of Shayne Shultz, 23, Salina, for allegedly having intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
The girl’s mother supsected something inappropriate happened between the girl and Shultz.
The mother contacted the Mayes County Sheriff’s office and Deputy Lorraine Litke conducted an interview.
The girl admitted to having sex with Shultz one time in July, but that nothing else ever happened besides sneaking kisses.
Litke turned her report over to the district attorney’s office and a felony charge of first-degree rape was filed.
Shultz was charged as a habitual criminal because of previous convictions of grand theft auto, burglary of a dwelling and grand theft larceny in Florida.
A warrant was issued for Shultz’s arrest, but he hasn’t been apprehended as of press time.
