John Kenneth Sutton, 49, Pryor, was formally sentenced Friday after being found guilty of child sexual abuse by a jury in February.
The charge stems from incidents between August 2004 and May 2005, when Sutton sexually abused a 17-year-old girl.
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered before Judge Terry McBride sentenced Sutton to the recommended punishment.
The jury recommended Sutton serve six months in the Mayes County jail and pay a $3,000 fine as well as court costs.
Sutton was taken into the custody of the Mayes County jail Feb. 12 to begin his sentence.
