The Pryor City council approved the following at the Tuesday meeting.
• City employees will be off in 2007 for holidays on Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day; Monday, Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Day; Friday, April 6 for Good Friday; Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day; Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day; Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day; Monday, Oct. 8 for Columbus Day; Monday, Nov. 12 for Veteran’s Day; Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23-24 for Thanksgiving and Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24-25 for Christmas.
• The council approved waiving the community hall fee for Thunderbird Youth Academy on Tuesday, Nov. 28 and Thursday, Dec. 7. The cadets will host a chili cook-off Tuesday and will auction off cadets to help with chores. On Thursday, Dec. 7, the cadets will host a bean supper. All money raised goes to help offset the costs of the graduation dinner.
• The council purchased a John Deere backhoe and hammer for the cemetery from Keystone Equipment Co. for $79,717.72.
• The council approved an expenditure of $1,261 to Caselle, Inc. for contract support charges from Dec. 1, 2006, to Feb. 28, 2007.
• The council approved an expenditure of $8,382.32 to Settle Engineering for professional services to secure original plans of Highway 69 and 69A.
• An $8,000 reimbursement out of hotel/motel grant money to the American Legion Memorial Ball field to purchase a field rake was approved.
• A $2,824.59 reimbursement out of hotel/motel grant money to the Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce for advertising expenses was approved.
• The council approved two raises for golf course employees. Roger Harding’s pay was raised 50 cents to $7.50 an hour and Bobby Leach’s pay was increased to $9 per hour from $7.50.
• The council approved transferring one canine transport unit to the Delaware County Sheriff’s office.
• The council approved seeking applications for one Animal Control officer with a salary of $21,273.
