Chouteau’s Elementary School Principal was charged with three counts of rape by instrumentation Wednesday.
David Ray Fisher, 45, Peggs, is accused of using his finger to penetrate a victim under the age of 14 on three different occassions.
The acts were allegedly committed in November 2003, December 2003 and January 2004. Fisher was working for Mazie School as a bus driver, teacher and coach at the time. Sheriff Frank Cantey said Fisher was the 13-year-old victim’s basketball coach and teacher.
Fisher became principal of Chouteau Elementary in May of this year.
The victim is now 19-years-old. Cantey said the victim told a friend at Chouteau that the newly named elementary school principal had molested her when she was in junior high.
Cantey said the friend went to the school resource officer with the information.
“The school resource officer called us,” Cantey said.
Cantey said the Chouteau Police Department called Fisher for an interview. He was arrested at the police station after arriving for the interview.
Special District Judge Gary Dean set Fisher’s preliminary hearing for Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. Upon the recommendation of Assistant District Attorney Jessica Carriger, Fisher’s bond was set at $100,000. He bonded out Wednesday afternoon.
